In support of the movement to set research free, 38 th Floor Unlimited are celebrating their launch by sponsoring a fringe event during the MRS Conference.

Research Fringe Unlimited is an intimate gathering for those wanting to ‘brain up' (as opposed to ‘dumb down') on the inspiration, aspirations and frustrations of research. The format will be a series of progressive talks held in the Pecha Kucha style where twelve speakers each get to show twenty slides for twenty seconds allowing the audience to experience an exhilarating array of speeches and images over the course of an evening. The format forces the speakers to communicate visually and quickly. There are no pauses or retreats as all 240 slides are programmed in a mercilessly advancing PowerPoint presentation.

The revolutionaries speaking (who will not be named till the evening - for security reasons) will include:

• Someone with a rubber glove, a white coat and a spiel about ‘gastromarketing'.

• A man from a VERY large FMCG company talking about anti-consumer research.

• The man behind above and beyond planning on environmentally sustainable research.

• A sermon praising contradiction entitled ‘Venti Skinny Latte'.

• The inside track on sex, drugs and research.

The event will be held on the 22nd March from 7- 9.30pm at the Audio, 10 Marine Parade, Brighton UK BN2 1TL. Doors open at 6.30.
